Patriotism: Is it about money or mission?
Dear Friends:
Salutations to all those who participated in today's Boston Marathon, especially those with special challenges or those raising awareness for social causes. It's an extraordinary physical feat, on the scale of feats of our other Patriots-not the New England Patriots, though we love our home team feats, too-but I'm talking about the men and women who sacrificed and died to make and keep America free. Political campaigns are marathons and they, too, must be about keeping America free.

Time to Stop the Partisan Attacks
I decided to run for Congress last summer to run a different kind of campaign--one that would rise above the partisan bickering and gridlock in Washington, DC to solve our nation's budget deficit and economic challenges.
The people of the 4th District want their elected officials to consider and enact solutions from Republicans, Democrats and Independents. I agree. And it's why I am in this race. While I don't think this is an historically unprecedented approach, leaders who work in a bipartisan manner sadly have become all too rare in modern American politics. I believe there is too much at stake to not look beyond marginal or petty differences and get things done.

Elizabeth Childs welcomes Joe Kennedy III to Brookline
Today, Joe Kennedy III formally announced his candidacy for US Congress and has started his campaign by taking a tour of the community I have lived and worked in
for over 20 years. As I would do for any new neighbor of mine, I would like to offer to take him around our Brookline neighborhood and introduce him to a few favorite culinary haunts - Sealey's and Martin's for breakfast, ribs at the Village Smokehouse, and Rita's for gelato. He can get his groceries at Kurkman's and gas his car at Eli's right down the street. Our schools are ready to educate his children and the best healthcare in the world is down the street. Maybe we'll run into each other walking around the reservoir.
